Tahlequah Recycling Inc. is bringing co-mingled curbside recycling collection to the city of Tahlequah.
Our program makes it super easy for the customer to be involved. No more separating your material into paper, aluminum, cardboard, and plastic and NO MORE Hauling it yourself! With your subscription to our program we provide you the container and come by each week to collect your material. Your container will hold all your recyclables and is labeled with the materials we accept, eliminating guesswork.
Our service area is mainly within Tahlequah city limits and your service day is matched with your regular garbage service day. Again, eliminating guesswork. If you are a commercial customer or outside city limits, special arrangements are made at the time of your subscription to accommodate your needs.

Solid Waste Services in Tahlequah collects nearly 70 tons of waste every day. That’s not a typo. It costs $17 per ton to dump in a landfill near Muskogee. The math?
70 tons/day x4 days/week = 280 tons/week x52 weeks/yr = 14,560 tons/year x $17/ton= $247,520/year!!!
Tahlequah spends almost a quarter of a million dollars each year in dumping fees alone, not including the fuel to haul it and other costs involved. Tahlequah Recycling Inc. is working to divert recyclable waste from going to the landfill. As of August 2010 Tahlequah Recycling Inc. is diverting 0.57% of Tahlequah’s weekly waste. Our goal is to have the highest diversion rate in the state which is more than 2%. 47% of trash is recyclable! Your participation is key in keeping that material from going to the landfill!
